SCIENTIFICALLY EXPERIMENTAL CENTER
Conducts complex scientifically technical research in the fields of progressive methods of constructional material strengthening, functional coverings, material science, friction and wearing off, methods of surface modifications.
Scientifically experimental center consists of several laboratories that allow conducting research starting from the new technological material processing methods and to the physical and technological indicators testing. In our center MD's, aspirants and doctoral students conduct laboratory classes, seminars, offers services to different companies and other educational institutions, all under supervision of experienced staff members.
Scientific directors: PhD, professor Kaplun Vitaliy Grigorovich, PhD, professor Kostogriz Sergiy Grigorovich, C.T.S. associate professor Shalapko Yuri Ivanovich.
SEC includes:
- Tribotechnical research laboratory: equipped with a wide variety of research techniques, friction machine 2070 CMT-1, rolling machine 2168 YMT, fretting wearing off plant, fretting-tiring when bending and stretching, contact strength with pulsating load, beforehand strengthening plant.
- Constructional material strengthening and modification laboratory equipped with: ion sputtering plant HHB-6.6-И1 for sputtering the strengthening coating in vacuum with the help of fast gas and metal plasma streams; ion nitrification plant with original functioning in nitrogen, nitrogen and argon atmosphere; laser technological plant KBAHT-18M for impulse thermal strengthening of detail surfaces, point metal welding; capitation-erosion wearing off plant.
- Roentgen structure analysis laboratory: equipped with ДРОН-3M and software that allows to conduct phase analysis that is the calculation of volume or weight phase units that are included in the polycrystalic directional specter; conduction of quality analysis with the use of a large database; profile x-ray processing that is attained through step by step scanning with constant time measuring; precisional grating parameter studying, micro and macro tension studying, lenses studies.
- Chemical analysis laboratory: equipped with electronic Auger spectrometer (EAS) 09IOC-10-005 that is needed for chemical (elemental) surface studies, chemical element spread over a surface and in depth with the help of EAS with electronic bundle unfolding and for electronic surface "bombing".
- Laboratory of optical analysis: equipped with electronic bitmap microscope РЭМ-101M; transmission electron microscope PEM-100, metalographical microscope МИМ-10, МЕТАМ Р-1, МБС-10, ИМЦ 100х50А microscopes; plant ИМАШ-20-78
 - Material physical qualities laboratory equipped with hardometer 2143 ТРС used for metal and alloy hardness testing using Super-Rockwell method, hardometer ИТ 5010-0 used for metal and alloy hardness testing using Vichers and Brinnel methods, hardometer ТР 5006 used for metal, alloy, plastic, graphite, compressed wood hardness testing using Rockwell method.
